1. Introduction and Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CORDOC LLC ("we," "our," or "us") governing your use of FreeVoice Reader products and services:
- FreeVoice Reader Web App (freevoicereader.com) - Cloud and local text-to-speech service
- FreeVoice Reader Chrome Extension - Browser-based local TTS and speech-to-text
- FreeVoice Reader Mac App - Native macOS application with system-wide dictation
By accessing or using any of our products, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Products
FreeVoice Reader Web App (Pro Account)
A web-based text-to-speech service offering both cloud-based (Google Cloud, Microsoft Edge) and local (browser-based) processing options. Pro subscriptions provide increased character limits, premium voices, and additional features.

FreeVoice Reader Mac App

3. Subscriptions and Payments
Web App Pro Subscription
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually)
- Prices are displayed in your local currency where available
- You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days notice
- Payment processing is handled by Paddle (paddle.com)
Mac App License
- One-time purchase grants a lifetime license
- License valid for up to 3 personal computers you own or control
- Free updates included for the lifetime of the product version
- Major version upgrades may be offered at a discounted rate
- Payment processing is handled by Paddle (paddle.com)
Chrome Extension
The Chrome Extension is provided free of charge with no payment required.
4. Refund Policy
Mac App - 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
How to Request a Refund
- Email us at support@freevoicereader.com within 30 days of your purchase
- Include your order number or the email address used for purchase
- We will process your refund within 3-5 business days
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method
- Processing time depends on your payment provider (typically 5-10 business days)
- No reason required - if you're not satisfied, we'll refund you
Web App Pro Subscription - No Refunds
Due to the nature of digital subscription services, we do not offer refunds for Web App Pro subscriptions. However, we provide a 3-day free trial so you can fully evaluate the service before committing to a paid subscription.

5. Free Trials
Web App Pro Trial
The Web App offers a 3-day free trial of Pro features with full access to premium voices and increased character limits. No payment information is required during the trial. After the trial, you may subscribe to continue with Pro features or use the free tier.
Mac App Trial
The Mac App includes a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. No payment information is required to start the trial. After the trial ends, a license purchase is required to continue using the application.
Web App Free Tier
In addition to the Pro trial, the Web App offers a permanent free tier with limited monthly character allowance. No credit card is required to use the free tier.
6. User Accounts
Some of our products require or offer optional user accounts:
- Web App: Account required for Pro features; managed through Clerk authentication
- Chrome Extension: No account required
- Mac App: No account required; license activation via email
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update any changes.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use our products to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Violate any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Use the products for spam, phishing, or other malicious purposes
- Circumvent usage limits or abuse free tiers
- Redistribute, sell, lease, or sublicense our products without authorization
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software (except where permitted by law)
- Share license keys or account credentials with unauthorized parties
8. License Agreement
Grant of License
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use our products for personal or internal business purposes.
Mac App Specific Terms
- License permits installation on up to 3 personal computers you own or control
- This is a lifetime license with no recurring fees for the purchased version
- License is non-transferable and may not be resold
Web App Subscription Terms
- Subscription grants access to Pro features for the duration of your subscription
- Access ends when subscription is cancelled or expires
- Character allowances reset each billing period
9. Content and Intellectual Property
Your Content: You retain ownership of the text content you submit for processing. You grant us a limited license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing our services. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to convert any text you submit.
Our Property: FreeVoice Reader and all associated intellectual property rights are owned by CORDOC LLC. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in our products or services.
10. Third-Party Services and Components
Our products integrate with or utilize third-party services and components:
- Paddle: Payment processing for subscriptions and purchases
- Clerk: Authentication for web app accounts
- Google Cloud TTS: Cloud text-to-speech processing (web app)
- Microsoft Edge TTS: Cloud text-to-speech processing (web app)
- Hugging Face: AI model hosting and distribution
- Kokoro TTS: Local text-to-speech model (Apache 2.0 License)
- Whisper (OpenAI): Local speech recognition model (MIT License)
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.
11. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our products at any time with reasonable notice when possible. Cloud-based features depend on third-party service availability.
Local processing features (Chrome Extension and Mac App) operate independently and do not require internet connectivity after initial setup.
12. Disclaimers
No Warranty: THE PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Accuracy: While we strive to provide high-quality text-to-speech and speech-to-text conversion, we do not guarantee that output will be free from errors, mispronunciations, or inaccuracies.
Not Professional Advice: Our products are not intended to provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Content converted through our services should not be relied upon as professional guidance.
Commercial Use: Users intending to use generated audio for commercial purposes should ensure compliance with all applicable licenses and intellectual property laws. Some voice models may have specific restrictions on commercial use.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CORDOC LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use or inability to use our products
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from our products
- Any bugs, viruses, or similar harmful code that may be transmitted through our products
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CORDOC LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of our products or violation of these Terms.
15. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to our products at any time for violation of these Terms, without prior notice or liability. Upon termination:
- Your right to use our products will immediately cease
- Mac App licenses may be deactivated
- Web App subscriptions will not be renewed
- You may request deletion of your account data
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our products shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For material changes affecting paid subscriptions, we will provide at least 30 days notice.
Your continued use of our products after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should discontinue use of our products.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CORDOC LLC regarding your use of our products and supersede any prior agreements.
